Introduction on who we are:
We have been rescueing animals since well before 2002, taking in the odd reptile, small mammal or arachnid as needed. However, at the start of Covid the surrender requests skyrocketed and we decided we must do more to help our scaly friends. It was time to make a charitable organization and rescue dedicated to reptiles & arachnids.
In 2021 & 2022 we took in well over 80 reptiles each year. In 2023 even more! It was time to do something more.
October of 2023 we became a charitable non-profit 501 (3)(c) dedicated to Reptiles/Arachnids that require rescue, rehome or surrendering. Our service area is open to anyone that requires our help. You must phone to arrange our service on rehome's or surrenders as space is limited. Rescue animals of course take 1st dibs on space.
There is no funding from State or any goverment agency... we rely on donations and support from our community. Our Community as well as our own personal funds, help us make a difference. So keeping in mind, we may ask a modest service fee for rehome's & surrender's to cover their care while we are working to find them long-term loving homes.
We spare no expense taking care of our animals.
Reptiles require special diets, large enclosures, specialty lighting, heating and expensive vet care. Our high standard of animal care comes with high costs, every donation whether it be monetary or otherwise goes directly towards our animals.
What do we do with reptiles or arachnids that are surrendered?
First and foremost we want to make sure the reptile is healthy and thriving. We observe, make sure it has or had proper care, proper housing with specialized lighting or heat and a specialized diet. Secondly we start working on long term loving homes. We may decide to keep this reptile in our sanctuary forever or until someone comes forward that can provide better or equal high quality care as we do. Some take weeks... some months... some are in our care for years!
